Warm Cinnamon Date Elixir Recipe
This warming, nourishing & calming date shake will be your kind and reliable friend this Fall and Winter.
Almonds are sattvic, ojas-producing, energizing & balancing for the mind, while soaking them makes them easier to digest & peeling them removes any pitta-aggravating qualities.
Dates are pacifying for both vata & pitta dosha while offering the medicine of the sweet taste (madhura rasa) to nourish & strengthen.
The warming spices kindle agni, increase heat in the body, keeping it warm & grounded as the days get shorter & colder.
1 cup non-dairy milk (unsweetened & organic if possible)
10 raw almonds, soaked & peeled
pinch of cinnamon powder
pinch of cumin powder
pinch of black pepper
tiny pinch of ginger powder (optional)
1 tsp Adapt To Life Potion (optional)
Heat the non-dairy milk in a pot on medium-low until hot and steaming.
Transfer to a blender and combine the oremaining ingredients into the blender.
Blend until frothy and creamy.
