The Jade Roller arises from Traditional Chinese Medicine, but has various benefits that are celebrated by Ayurveda. It helps to cleanse and stimulate lymphatic drainage, to revitalize and plump skin, soften fine lines, de-puff the eyes, release tension held in the jawline and cheekbones, and relax the neck and shoulders. 

Because it aids in lymphatic drainage, it may support in clearing up acne, reducing puffiness and circles under the eyes, and brighten dull skin or balance excess oiliness. Some refer to its treatment as a 'natural facelift'.

The area where lymphatic build-up is most noticeable is, of course, skin. There are lymph nodes all over your face — in front of the ears, along the jawline, under the chin, around the cheeks; when toxins are stagnating there, the result is usually breakouts, dullness, oil-overload and puffiness.

Much like Abyhanga or an Ayurvedic Self Oil Massage, the jade roller stimulates the circulatory system and massage various marma points (acupressure points), and when used in the right direction, pushes the lymph (the liquid in your body's tissues) to the lymph nodes, encouraging a natural detoxification process and a release of ama (toxicity or waste). The nodes are where white blood cells destroy any bacteria picked up by the lymph as it circulates throughout the body. When a node gets clogged with bacteria, it causes inflammation. Both the increase in circulation and the stimulation of the lymphatic system encourages the brightness of our skin and helps smooth out fine lines, wrinkles and even skin tone. Here's to Radiance!
